J. Gabriel Dennery is an attorney with significant experience in the state and federal courts of Kentucky in commercial litigation and collection matters. Having represented debtors, creditors, and commercial landlords, Gabriel applies a practical and well-informed approach to asset recovery. He is licensed in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and admitted to practice before the United States District Courts of the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky.
REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE
THG Bluegrass Manor, LLC v. Fitness & Sports Clubs, LLC, et al. Jefferson Circuit Court, Case No. 23-CI-1402 — Represented a commercial landlord in lease dispute with a tenant after judgment had been entered against the tenant, resulting in collection of $2.4 million. The underlying judgment may still be pending appeal.
In re The Lyons Companies, LLC, Case No. 25-30004-jal (Bankr. W.D. Ky.) — Represented a landlord in successfully defending an adversary proceeding brought by a Chapter 7 trustee challenging the priority of the landlord’s possessory security interest, allowing the landlord to retain a $245,059.53 security deposit. The decision was not appealed or later set aside.
In re Becker, Inc., Case No. 24-31386-crm (Bankr. W.D. Ky.) — Represented the Chapter 11 debtor in a dispute over its former landlord’s administrative-expense claim; negotiated a resolution limiting the requested $119,667.30 increase to $35,000. The agreed order was not appealed or later set aside.
